Digital Umuganda creates open source datasets, models and tools that make it possible for NLP including large language models to work for marginalized communities that speak under resourced languages.

Kinyarwanda Datasets
Digital Umuganda’s success in collecting Kinyarwanda Voice and text datasets is evident through Mozilla Common Voice’s platform With 2000 hours collected & curated. The volume of data in Kinyarwanda is second only to English, the largest open voice dataset in the world. This was achieved by building productive partnerships with local communities on the ground.
MBAZA A.I CHATBOT
Mbaza AI Chatbot is a chatbot that enables citizens to access information & guidance while using the local language and also provides feedback to the relevant authorities including key concerns of the population as well tracking probable contamination cases. The chatbot can be accessed through the national health hotline short code *114# and has more than 2.2 million unique users nationwide.

Audace NIYONKURU
Founder & CEO
Audace is the founder and C.E.O of Digital Umuganda. He is currently spearheading the vision of the company. He has an ambitious goal of using AI backed voice interaction technologies to bridge the digital divide gap in Africa. To reach that goal he is overseeing the process of having the first open voice data-set in Kinyarwanda as one of the under represented language.
